Art Kits: Printmaking & Accordian Books

The Lovely and Talented Anna Ostendorf of Art Reach Red Wing made us a superb accordion book demo.  If you don't have these supplies at home, Real Life Coffee and Yoga in St Paul can bring you a kit curbside with your coffee.  The kit contains cover, pages, brush, burnishing tool, and glue.  Please give what you can, cash, card or message me to make a Venmo donation to the supply budget.

Styrofoam Relief Prints

If you want to give Printmaking a try, I put together some foam printing kits, containing your own paint, brush, textures to try, foam, paper and tray.  Here is a step by step easy way to do it with the kit contents or maybe some stuff you already have.  Foam printing is very versatile and can be done with traditional printmaking rollers and inks.   I have a lot of fun experimenting with different layers of paint!

Draw an image onto the tray using a pencil or the end of your paintbrush handle.

Use a paintbrush to cover over the Styrofoam with paint or ink.  Try to keep the paint out of your carved areas. 

Lay the paper over top, and press lightly.

Pull the paper off of the foam carefully & voila!

**If you run out of paint, try coloring the foam with a water soluble marker, dampen paper with a wet (not drippy) sponge and press like a stamp.  Sky is the limit!
